Jackson County Hunting Heroes is dedicated to enriching the lives of U.S. Veterans, First Responders, and their families by fostering fellowship, honoring tradition, and promoting healing through recreational experiences. We focus on providing meaningful opportunities for recovery and personal growth, not financial assistance—through community-driven programs and outdoor engagement.
Our programs include our annual hunt for veterans, monthly meetings open to veterans and family members, and several community and veteran focused events throughout the year. For our hunts, we provide everything including food, guides, meat cutting, and more.
The people in and around Jackson County donated in excess of 8,000 acres for veteran hunts. All volunteers—guides, meat cutters, cooks, and organizers—donate their time. Every dollar raised supports the veterans directly; no salaries are paid. This is a community-supported event with volunteers from local businesses, Future Farmers of America, the VG-Tech culinary school, and citizens coming together to honor our veterans and thank them for their sacrifices.
"They are truly 'brothers of another mother' when they come together and share their stories and offer counsel to one another."

"I don't have a lot of opportunities throughout the year to share life with other guys who share my passion for hunting. These guys did and we became instant friends! I needed that."

"Wounded veterans to be united together, is letting us know that we are not forgotten from World War II up to this date."

"I feel incredibly humbled, and blown away that you folks would take as much time and effort from your daily lives to organize this and invite us into the fold."
